Energy Innovation and Policy
Peter Love is a recognized leader in energy conservation and efficiency. He provides strategic and policy advice on energy issues for companies, governments and utilities with a focus on energy conservation/efficiency. He is president of the Energy Services Association of Canada, Adjunct Professor at York University’s Faculty of Environmental Studies, and a volunteer Cleantech Advisor at MaRS Discovery District.
In 2005, Peter was appointed Ontario’s first Chief Energy Conservation Officer with the Ontario Power Authority, providing leadership in electricity conservation. Peter has held senior executive positions with a government agency, non-profit advocacy organizations, and two successful startup companies. He has played a leading role in 15 corporate and non-profit boards, serving as Chair of seven and President/Executive Director of five. Current appointments include founding member of the board of Energy Efficiency Alberta, volunteer president of the Royal Canadian Institute for Science, and founding director of Rethink Sustainability Initiatives (RSI).
He has a B.A. and M.B.A from the University of Toronto and ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
